Mutualism

 A parasite that helps an animal stay healthy

 A small parasite eats the dead skin off the American black bear. The parasite benefits because it gain nutrients and the bear benefits because the dead skin cells are removed.

Commensalism


A bird nesting in a tree

A Bohemian Waxwing will nest in a Balsam Fir in the summer so it can breed. No harm comes to the tree and the Bohemian Waxwing will have a safe place to nest and raise its young.

Parasitism

 A parasite living on an animal.

An American Black Bear can contract the Winter Tick off other animals that already have it. The bear gets sick from lack of blood, where as the tick benefits from the nurturance in the bears blood.
